Chris Robley

“The Natural”

After years playing Jazz guitar and studying music theory and composition at the University of Richmond, Chris did the sensible thing. He started writing pop songs. He has released 4 critically lauded albums both as a solo artist and fronting the agitprop-prog-pop group THE SORT OFs. Chris frequently tours with his “solo” band, Chris Robley & the Fear of Heights, an indie-pop orchestra 4-14 members strong. He frequently lends his talents as a multi-instrumentalist to other Portland acts such as Norfolk & Western, the Rachel Taylor Brown Band, and The Imprints, as well as doing session work and producing albums by other artists. He works at CD Baby as an editor and occasionally lends his voice and opinions to the DIY Musician Podcast.
